California Congresswoman Maxine Waters has turned out to be one of the baddest bitches (and we say that with all due respect) in Congress since Trump rose to power, and we are here for the drama.
Kind of like when Reese Witherspoon’s character threw a birthday party on the same day that Laura Dern’s character threw a birthday party on Big Little Lies, Maxine Waters is delivering her own State of the Union address to the American people during Trump’s official State of the Union address on Tuesday. And just like on Big Little Lies, everyone will go to Reese’s Maxine’s party, leaving Laura Trump ranting impotently about how no one wants he and his children to be happy.
Waters, who sparked the sensational meme, “I’m reclaiming my time,” has remained a vocal critic of our President ever since he first plopped his mammoth ass down in the Oval Office, has announced that she will give a national address on BET as part of a program called Angela Rye’s Station of the Union. The program will reportedly address Trump’s first year in office, specifically in relation to how it has affected black Americans. So basically, y’all can expect Miss Maxine to give us an “all tea all shade” recap of how our president is basically a white nationalist.
The move comes at a time when Trump is (surprise surprise) lying to the American people on his Twitter account about how great “the blacks” are doing.
On January 6th, Trump tweeted, “The African American unemployment rate fell to 6.8%, the lowest rate in 45 years,” leaving out the part where he has done absolutely nothing to encourage that growth and that our current booming economy is only thanks to President Barack Obama. Seriously, if we can understand that one basic truth about the economy — that it takes years for a President to affect the economy, and his or her hard work may only pay off during the next President’s term — why can’t Trump?
Anyway, many people of color are already planning on boycotting Trump’s State of the Union address, so it unfortunately doesn’t seem like that tweet has solved our country’s 250-year-long problem of virulent racism.
