Former Olympic diver Johan Jimmy Sjödin, who competed in the men’s platform and springboard diving events during the 1996 games in Atlanta, is engaged to German body builder and graphic designer Patrick Huber. The two men are so happy they want the world to revel in their fur-covered romance and recent engagement. No objections here.
The two men, who’ve been together for 17 months and now live in Munich, recently chatted with Gay Star News about their engagement and upcoming nuptials.
“We met on Facebook a while back,” Sjödin revealed. “We chatted a bit and then we lost contact. I think he was seeing someone and I was seeing someone. We then started talking again and just hit it off.”
While vacationing in Venice, Sjödin popped the matrimonial question to his lover.
“Then on the Friday, he said ‘We have an appointment at 10.30, so be ready and wear something… well, don’t look like a total slob,’ but I still didn’t understand something was going on,” Huber shared. “So we get to the gondolas and there was a girl, and I thought she was just a tour guide. It turns out she was a professional photographer that he had hired. She was taking photos but I still thought she was a tour guide.”
“Then all of a sudden, he gets down on one knee in the gondola and pops the question. He starts crying and then popped the question. I was just so shocked. I don’t even remember what he said!” Um, something like “will you marry me?” is our guess.
