Out ski champ Gus Kenworthy is the latest athlete to pose in the buff for ESPN’s annual Body Issue. The 26-year-old skier, who won the silver medal in men’s freestyle skiing at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, chatted with Good Morning America about the shoot, admitting that, after a beard trim and spray tan, he was indeed fully nude for six hours.
Kenworthy goes on to admit that although he was excited to be a part of the prestigious project along with other household name sports figures, he wasn’t completely at ease being nude in front of an entire camera. “I was definitely nervous,” he told the GMA hosts. “I had reservations.” Asked by host Lara Spencer if there were heaters present to help prevent shrinkage, Kenworthy elaborated on the shooting process. “They had a robe that I could put on, but it was freezing,” he revealed. “The photo editor had already prepped me and she was like, ‘Think about poses you can do to hide yourself. Think of creative ways to hide yourself. I got out there in the cold and I was like, ‘Don’t worry; it’ll hide itself.'”

Y'all wanted nudes? You got 'em! 😝 So excited to finally get to show you guys my photos from the @ESPN Body Issue! Everything about this shoot was terrifying: I had to be naked, on a ski mountain, standing in the snow posing in-front of a crew of 16 people for six hours! Although that might sound like torture it actually ended up being one of the most amazing experiences of my life! It's kind of crazy how quickly you can get comfortable in an awkward situation with just a few shots of tequila. Lol. I really can't thank @benlowy (the photographer) and the rest of the crew enough for making me so comfortable and for doing everything to capture me in the best light possible. The Body Issue is, to me, a perfect combination of sport and art and I couldn't be more proud or honored to have been a part of it! More pics to be posted soon but don't forget to pick up your issue on newsstands this Friday, July 7th! #BodyIssue #BodyIssues #DaddyIssues
