In a move that is sure to confuse straight conservative bros across the country, Netflix will be releasing a new film starring girl-on-girl action … between a female President of the United States and her wife.
First Ladies, a political comedy written by Tig Notaro and her wife Stephanie Allynne, will feature Jennifer Aniston as the first woman president and Notaro as the great woman behind her. (Or in front of her … or under her. It really depends on their moods that day.)
Cue Sean Hannity: “I support the bedroom scenes, but I don’t understand why we have to see Aniston’s character making decisions about the country. It’s gratuitous.”
No word yet on whether Rosie O’ Donnell, Lily Tomlin, Wanda Sykes, and Kate McKinnon will appear on Aniston’s Cabinet. But we do hope that Aniston’s character will shape international foreign policy by making the island of Lesbos an official member of the United Nations.
We also imagine that the idea of a queer president won’t go over too well with some more homophobic countries across the planet, a.k.a. all of them. But since this is a comedy, we probably won’t be seeing World War III with a cavalry of power lesbians riding in at the last minute to save America.
We’re just happy that Tig Notaro is still landing projects following the untimely demise of her acclaimed series One Mississippi over at Amazon. In addition to First Ladies, she will be debuting her original comedy special Tig Notaro Happy to Be Here on May 22 on Netflix. She will also direct Ellen DeGeneres’ upcoming Netflix original comedy special.
