House Minority Leader has found a new way to court young and/or LGBTQ Democratic voters — by appearing as a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars. (Oh, so THAT’S what Minority Leader means. You just hang out with a bunch of minorities.)
According to Pelosi’s spokesperson, Pelosi is appearing as a judge to show “solidarity in the face of what she calls attacks on LGBT people by the Trump administration.” We also assume it’s so she can judge who has the tightest tuck.
Pelosi’s presence suggests that there might be some political element to the episode in which she appears, so let’s just hope the episode’s main challenge is better than the campaign video challenge which previously got Thorgy Thor eliminated. And even if the queens do have to repeat that challenge, Thorgy will hopefully fare better now that she’s learned a thing or two.
In any case, we’re mostly just excited to see Pelosi say things like, “Someone needs to veto that dress,” and “Filibuster? I hardly know her,” followed by “If you don’t learn to contour right, Aja, I am going to SHUT DOWN THE GOVERNMENT.”
Reportedly, Pelosi will be joining a roster of guest judges including Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical), Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), American Goddess Kristin Chenoweth, Marc Jacobs, Chris Colfer (Kurt from Glee!!), Vanessa Williams, Adam Lambert, and “Taylor Swift’s Token Black Gay Friend” Todrick Hall.
Other than answering the question “wtf ever happened to Adam Lambert and Kurt from Glee,” this list blesses us with the possibility of Tituss Burgess hilariously rolling his eyes at whatever the hell Aja farts out. (Side-note: Can you win an Emmy for best eye roll, or for Best Drag Race judge? Burgess should at least be nominated.)
Anyway, let’s just hope Pelosi doesn’t send the wrong queen home — otherwise some of us might be voting Republican this fall.
