Pussy-Grabber-In-Chief Trolls Al Franken: Silent On Roy Moore, Himself

Comedy, Featured, Politics

In a truly Frankensteinian display Thursday night, President Trump managed to combine stray, repulsive bits of anti-Semitism, cronyism, anti-SNL sentiment, and extreme hypocrisy into a grotesque monstrosity of a tweet about Senator Al Franken.

After a woman earlier this week accused Franken of groping and kissing her without her consent, Trump tweeted, “The Al Frankenstien [sic] picture is really bad, speaks a thousand words. Where do his hands go in pictures 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 while she sleeps?”

Trump appeared to be referencing a 2006 photo in which Franken seemed to grab a woman’s breast as she slept during a USO-hosted comedy tour of the Middle East.

It’s hard to pinpoint what is most terrible about Trump’s tweet: His blatant hypocrisy, or his lame AF insult. Can someone tell us how, exactly, Al Franken is like Frankenstein? Or was Trump just eager to share his recent realization that two different words can have the same letters in them?

But let’s talk about that hypocrisy. According to a Republican “source,” i.e. a White House staffer who was still salty about having his phone taken away, Trump recently said in a White House meeting that he didn’t want to be dragged into a conversation about sexual harassment. Well, here he is, being dragged into another conversation about sexual harassment. Hmm, wonder why the exception?

Trump has refused to comment on Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore‘s history of pedophilia, or his own history of pussy-grabbing and alleged sexual assault, but he’s totally willing to go after Franken, a Jewish former SNL writer who is also a Democrat. Perhaps it’s just a tremendous coincidence that those are all the things Trump hates. Or perhaps, when you consider that Moore is also a homophobe and one of Trump’s buddies, Trump’s tweet might be a prime example of cronyistic protection.

Let’s face it, Franken deserves to be dragged. He’s a perfect early example of our country paving the way for a sexual predator to be elected president. Along with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Franken is just one of many politicians before Trump who were elected to office despite being accused of sexual harassment or sexual assault. After all, let’s never forget when Franken joked about raping a journalist in the SNL writer’s room during his time on the show. The incident was quoted in a 1995 New York magazine article.

Still, if our President were any sort of leader, he’d find some way to unite our common humanity — say, by censoring sexual harassment and sexual assault, which is what we’re all mad at, instead of just coming up with dumb names for people he doesn’t like. But our President is unfortunately not a leader. He’s a child.
